ecoOnto project aims to model an ontology defining concepts and relationships related to the great environmental questions by reusing and augmenting existing ontologies. This ontology will provide a better communication between environmental actors and aspire to make biodiversity informatics resources, data as well as analysis applications, interoperable.
*An ontology is a set of concepts and relationships modeling a domain without any ambiguity. A formal representation of an ontology using a language makes computers able to exploit the modeled knowledge.
